In Butte, a community built on resilience and grit, a special group of individuals and organizations continues to prove that meaningful change starts at the local level.  the Moving Mountains Awards, established by Butte Cares, shine a spotlight on those who go above and beyond to strengthen the community and promote a healthier, safer way of life.

Each year, the awards recognize people and groups who embody unity, leadership, and a deep commitment to substance-free living--key pillars of Butte Cares' mission.  These honorees aren't just participants in the community, they're drivers of progress, working behind the scenes and on the front lines to make Butte a better place for everyone.

Over time, the Moving Mountains Awards have highlighted a wide range of local champions, from grassroots organizations to established programs.  Their efforts, whether big or small, contribute to a broader culture of care and accountability that continues to shape the future of Butte.

What sets these recipients apart is their willingness to go the extra mile. They bring people together, lead by example and consistently advocate for initiatives that strengthen the social fabric of our community.  Their work serves as a powerful reminder that real change doesn't happen in isolation--it happens when neighbors support one another and work towards a common goal.
