Butte YMCA Pumpkin Swim set for October 27

When you're the parent of a young child, finding the perfect pumpkin is an annual event that is best not left until the last minute.  Plenty of Butte kids (and probably more adults) swear by Halloween as their favorite holiday of the year and some really take creating their jack-o-lanterns to the extreme.  Remember last year's community display at the courthouse?  Here are a few of our favorites.

If you're going to compete in this contest or even if you're just carving one up for the porch, you're going to need a pumpkin and the Butte Family YMCA has a great way for your kid to be guaranteed a pumpkin (and even a little exercise) along with the annual pumpkin swim that is scheduled for Friday, October 27.  During the Pumpkin Swim, your kid will swim and splash in the pool while finding the perfect pumpkin.  For the first 150 kids registered, each child is guaranteed 1 pumpkin plus the chance to decorate it while enjoying a yummy Halloween treat and playing carnival style games.  The cost is $5 per child and the swim will be taking place in two waves at the Butte Family YMCA pool.  The first wave will be taking place from 6 to 7:30pm and to guaranteed your child's spot and pumpkin, register here now.
