Butte’s Belmont Senior Center alive with activities this August
August is here and with the arrival of the new month comes many activities and services at Butte's Belmont Senior Center on Mercury Street.
Coming up on August 10th is the AARP Driving Course at 9am. Another session of "Tech Tips" is scheduled for August 15 with individualized instruction on cell phones, tablets and laptops available. On August 16, Robin with host Hearing Aid Cleaning at 10:30am and blood pressure screenings are every Friday at 11am. Finally, Lorissa will be hosting the popular "Craft Circle" at 10:30am on Tuesday the 15th and Tuesday the 29th.
Continuing programs and functions at the Belmont in August will include bingo every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 1pm and pinochle at the same time on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. From 10am to 11am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday is Sneaker Exercise, and the Foot Clinic is available for $15 but is by appointment. As always, rides to medical appointments are availalble from 9 to 11am Mondays through Fridays provided you give them at least 24 hours' notice. Transportation is also available for shopping trips around town.
Remember that you can stop up for a fresh cinnamon roll and hot coffee for only one dollar every Tuesday from 8am to 10:30am and the August Birthday Lunch will be on Thursday the 24th at noon. Of course, you can enjoy lunch Monday through Friday at the Belmont from noon to 1pm for only five dollars and no reservation is necessary. A reminder that this month the Belmont will not be open on the Friday the14th.
