Thursday night the Butte Elks Lodge will be hosting some of the most unique and courageous comedians that you will find anywhere on the circuit.  The "Comedians with Disabilities Act" is coming to the stage but as you will find out, the focus is on the comedy, not the disabilities.

The Comedians with Disabilities Act is a collection of some really funny people with disablities that are "both seen and unseen (who) bring forth the humor they find in their experiences".  The troupe that will be performing on Thursday include Michael Beers, Mean Dave, Steve Danner and Nina G.

Montana's Michael Beers is the 2005 winner of the Norman G. Brooks Comedy Competition which took place at the Hollywood Improv and has previously opened for Gilbert Gottfried, so he knows what he is doing.  However, Michael is much more than a comedian.  He is a sought after motivational and keynote speaker delivering on topics such as "humor, disability advocacy, education and community building."  Nina G describes herself as a "stuttering comedian and dyslexic writer" who has even done a TED Talk.  You will find all four comics not only incredibly funny and talented but very inspirational.

The Butte Elks is at 206 W. Galena in Historic Uptown Butte and this show will be fully handicap-accessible and will have sign language interpretation as well.  Doors open at 5pm, showtime is at 7pm and tickets are $20 each.  Get your tickets in advance at 5518 Designs at 27 N. Main Street in Uptown Butte or online at comedianswithdisabillitesact.com/butte. The show is presented by Ability Montana.
