Check out Open Mic Tuesdays at Butte’s Covellite Theater
Are you a singer or musician yearning for a little stage time? Are you an aspiring comic in need of an audience? Are you a poet or a dancer who wants to share your art with the world? If you're a performer of any kind there is a place for you and an open invitation to check out and take part in the Covellite Theater's Open Mic night which will be taking place tonight and every Tuesday though March of next year. Oh, and if you just want to be a part of the audience, that's fine too.
Open Mic Night will start with signups at 7pm at the Covellite Theater at 215 W. Broadway. Performers will sign up at the door for their chance at the mic with performances expected to run from around 8pm to 11pm. All ages are invited to perform or attend.
Throughout October, Open Mic Night will be hosted by Aaron Armstrong, a "folk punk singer-songwriter from western Montana whose raw lyrics and gritty acoustic sound carry the spirit of rebellion. Whether he's busking on a sidewalk or filling a room with tunes, Aaron sings for outcasts, dreamers and those still fighting for a better world." Different hosts are scheduled each month bringing a "different energy and a different flavor of performance to the stage ensuring every Tuesday feels alive with new voices, new stories and surprising turns."
There is no cover charge but guests are asked to bring cash tips for the host and the house. Various snacks will be available for sale as well as beer, wine, canned cocktails and nonalcoholic beverages including Kombucha, coffee and CBD seltzers.
