Reverie Road highlights busy weekend at Butte’s Covellite Theater

Celtic music powerhouse Reverie Road's Saturday night concert and series of Sunday workshops will highlight a fun and exciting upcoming few days at Butte's Covellite Theater with Uptown Comedy kicking things off on Thursday evening.

THURSDAY - UPTOWN COMEDY

Every Thursday through Thanksgiving is Uptown Comedy Night at the Covellite sponsored by Montucky Cold Snacks who donate $1 from every snack sold to a local charity.  The comedians are hysterical and the show is free but bring a few bucks for the comics and the servers.  Doors open at 7:30pm, showtime is 8pm.

SATURDAY - REVERIE ROAD

Reverie Road is no stranger to Butte having performed at the Montana Folk Festival and this Saturday's intimate show at the Covellite promises to delight.  Reverie Road is a genre-bending quartet featuring former Solas members Winifred Horan on fiddle and John Williams on the accordion.  Katie Grennan, formerly of Gaelic Storm adds another fiddle while Steinway Artist pianist Ustav Lal rounds out the ensemble.  Their incredible sound, while deeply rooted in tradition, is refreshingly contemporary.  Doors open at 6:30pm and showtime is 7:30pm.  Tickets are limited but still available.  Click here to get yours.

SUNDAY - FIDDLE, FLUTE AND IRISH DANCE WORKSHOPS

Sunday, Reverie Road's Katie Grennan and Winifred Horan will guide participants through a hand-on workshop that explores style, ornamentation and phrasing that are essential to Irish Fiddling.  The workshop is designed for musicians with previous experience who are looking to broaden their techniques and repertoires.  Click here to register.

Also on Sunday, John Williams, five-time All-Ireland Champion and founder of the legendary band Solas will help players with basic fluency on the Irish Flute refine their tone, production, ornamentations and breathing techniques while exploring songs that highlight phrasing and lift.  Register here.
