Fundraiser for Butte Spay/Neuter Task Force June 22 at Elks Lodge
Since 2004, The Butte Spay and Neuter Task Force has been in operation with the goal of making affordable the process of spaying and neutering companion animals for everyone. In addition to the numerous spay and neuter clinics that are offered throughout the year, the spay and neuter task force offers to any interested party $50 credit vouchers that are honored at local veterinary clinics towards the cost of the operation. The Task Force is also behind many pet vaccination clinics throughout the year. Is all of this an expensive process? Most certainly. But their success is clear as since their formation there has been a significant reduction in our city of the number of animals being given away or impounded. Additionally, a great number of those impounded have already been spayed or neutered and the number of dog bites reported to the county has also dropped considerably. The Butte Spay and Neuter Task Force, in short, is an integral part of our community.
Make plans to give the Butte Spay and Neuter Task Force a little help in return. Thursday, June 22 there will be a fundraising dinner taking place at the Elks Lodge at 206 W. Galena from 5 until 8pm. Chicken and Spaghetti will be served, 50/50 tickets will be sold, and a live auction will take place at 6:30pm. Admission is $15 per person and only $30 for families. Proceeds will go towards spay/neuter/vaccinations to animals that would otherwise go without. Make plans to attend but if you can't donations can be mailed to PO Box 544, Butte MT 59703.
