Great places in Butte for a milkshake
We've been waiting for summertime, and it finally has seemed to have arrived. There's nothing like a good milkshake in the hot weather and here are a few Butte places where you can't go wrong.
BONANZA FREEZE - 1040 S. MONTANA
Shakes, malts, banana splits, you name it. The Bonanza Freeze is reminiscent of the walkup burger joints from years gone by but they do have two drive thru windows. Locally owned for decades and one of the friendliest places in town, the Bonanza Freeze is always a great stop for a shake or soft serve cone and their food is worth standing in line for as well.
ROYSE'S HAMBURGERS, SHAKES AND MORE - 2340 HARRISON
Royse's on Harrison Avenue has what has to be the largest milkshake menu in town. From hot fudge to butterscotch, Royse's shakes are thick and plentiful and have been one of Butte's favorite spots since 1971.
DAIRY QUEEN - 64 W MERCURY AND 2227 HARRISON
At the Dairy Queen, you can count on the same milkshakes you grew up with plus a few new flavors. DQ always has a few surprises as far as limited-time Blizzard flavors and ice cream treats and is always a nice place to take a break from the heat.
PORK CHOP JOHNS - 2400 HARRISON
At John's you get chocolate, vanilla or strawberry. But what they lack in variety, they more than make up for in size and taste. John's shakes, available only at the Harrison Avenue location, pair perfectly with a Double Dog or an Original Pork Chop Sandwich.
