Human Foosball/Music Festival Saturday at Hitchin’ Post in Melrose
The competition that is happening this Saturday in beautiful Melrose, Montana is not an Olympic event, though one could argue that it should be. It's not sanctioned by the NCAA or NAIA, in fact, you will not find this particular activity as part of the curriculum of any high school either. What I'm talking about here is Human Foosball and while you may not find it on ESPN, you will find it at the Hitchin' Post in Melrose this Saturday.
What is Human Foosball? Well, it's pretty much like the table variety foosball only it's played on the ground with the "table" consisting of a little engineering and a lot of hay bales. There are no little wooden players either. That's where you come in, or at least you and five of your friends or relatives. People will take the place of the wood guys with six on each team, each secured to a pole with three up front, two in the middle and a goalkeeper. Sound like fun? Call the Hitchin' Post to see if there are any spaces left for your team, $120 will get you in. Plus the money is gonig to be going back to the players with prizes for things like best costume and best team name. So get creative.
Even if you're not interested in competing, Human Foosball is a lot of fun to watch and there will be games going on all day with a bunch of live music to boot. From 11 to 1, it's Cash & Company: The Music of Johnny Cash who are known to mix it up by playing other Country Gold artists like Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings as well as stuff from the Man in Black. From 3 to 6pm it's High Ore Road playing classic rock and a few country tunes and then from 7 to 10pm is the original Montana country of Dakota Poorman.
For details on this Saturday's events or any of the other cool things happening at the Hitchin' Post this fall, please call (406) 835-2150.
