“Tip-a-Cop” Event today at MacKenzie River Pizza
Today is a very special day at MacKenzie River Pizza locations including our location here in Butte. "Tip-a-Cop" is an effort to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Montana and an opportunity to get to know some of our local Law Enforcement Officers and Special Olympic Athletes. Officers and athletes will work as "celebrity servers" with their tips going to support Special Olympics activities right here in Butte as well as around Montana.
Special Olympics is a non-profit organization that provides year-round sports training and competition to more than 3.800 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Montana. Tip-a-Cop is part of the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run campaign which includes an international series of relay runs and special events. The campaign is represented worldwide by over 78,000 law enforcement officers, all with the goal of raising money and awareness for Special Olympics. The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the largest grassroots fundraiser and public relations vehicle for Special Olympics through which funds raised go directly to programs in states and cities where the funds are generated.
"As athletes strive to do their best, so do we. Our goal is to continue to increase public awareness and to raise additional funds for some outstanding individuals-Special Olympics Montana Athletes"
