I don't even know what the post or posts were saying and, to be honest, I'm not going to waste time looking for them or even giving them page views. It doesn't matter. They're posts from an imposter. All I saw was what my friend, Jon Wick, put on Facebook.

What better way to send off the summer than an afternoon in the shadows of the Big Butte enjoying not only our incredible World Museum of Mining but a rapidly growing brewfest featuring live music, great food and a fun afternoon of sampling the fares of some great local breweries, distilleries and food trucks. The 3rd Annual Big Butte Brewfest will take place this Saturday, August 24th from noon to 6pm. Let's take a look at who's participating and what we can expect.

The Pipe and Drum Band of the Edmonton Police Service is coming back to Butte for St. Patrick's Day celebrations. Since the 1980s their family-friendly performances have become synonymous with St. Patrick's Day in Butte and their whirlwind three-day Mining City tour schedule is up for this weekend's events.

Let me be the first to say that I am not one to doubt the math that the people at Water and Environmental Technologies are showing. After all, they are some of the smartest people in town doing work that I can barely spell correctly, less understand. So, when they say that based on 2023 data, approximately 75% of the people who donate blood at this Friday's Blood and Food Drive will get a door prize, I am inclined to believe them. And these door prizes are pretty cool, too.

There's a quintet out of Bozeman who do their best to bring the Doors legendary stage presence to life, not just a song but a nearly note-perfect retrospective. And they will be doing it this Friday night at Butte's Covellite Theater, 215 W. Broadway.

It's going to be a fun Saturday in Uptown Butte as the annual Ice Carving competition takes place. This is the 23rd year that this event has taken place under the wing of our friends at Mainstreet Uptown Butte.

In a town that has gained worldwide notoriety for its celebrations and parties, it is only fitting that summer be sent off in a style befitting of Montana's "Festival City". This Friday night is the "Fall Fling" taking place outside of the Elks Lodge on Galena Street adjacent to Headframe Spirits from 6pm until 10pm. And quite the party is planned.

There will be dozens of breweries represented as well as cideries and distilleries at Saturday's Big Butte Brewfest. There will be food and craft vendors and some fantastic live music. In fact, performers for the event have been announced along with the addition of 5 distilleries.

Multitalented Fred Crase will be putting on a fundraiser concert this Saturday night at the Butte Elks Lodge that has a lot of people excited. Of course, we know Fred from his work with the Brewery Follies as the Musical Director and his work as Choir Director of the Mining City Choral Union. He does incredible work with whatever his endeavor. But Saturday Night, in addition to being Alright For Fighting (sorry, I couldn't resist), Fred will be known as Sir Elton John as he takes the stage for a fundraiser show, "The Bitch Is Back", with proceeds going not only to the Mining City Choral Union but also to Butte's Orphan Girl Children's Theatre.
