The excitement kicks off Friday with cheer camps and a parade—it's a celebration you won't want to miss in Butte.

The Butte High Bulldogs are rolling into the 2024 Athletic Season by rolling out the red, er, purple carpet that is, for the entire city this Friday as the fall sports programs wrap up preseason drills with the annual "Purple and White" series of intrasquad scrimmages and time trials, including the cross-country, volleyball and football programs.

Colt Anderson's Dream Big Foundation has set the dates and locations for the Dream Big Montana Experience 2024, and it is safe to say that Uptown Butte will be rocking on Thursday and Friday, June 27th and 28th with everything from a Tim Montana concert to a football skills camp.

With the arrival of football season and both Naranche Stadium and Bob Green Field at Alumni Colisuem firmly uptown, where is a convenient place to grab a bite before or after the big game? Put down your pom poms and pick up your forks. Here are some of the best places in Butte to get your pregame meal or snack.

Today we officially end the preseason and work towards the first games, matches and meets of the season. And the Bulldogs are going big. This afternoon and through the evening the Butte Bulldogs will be putting late summer practices to the test as the football team hosts the annual Purple and White scrimmage, the cross country team puts on their varsity time trial, the volleyball team holds intrasquad scrimmages and both boys and girls soccer teams will scrimmage. In addition to the scrimmages, the Butte Athletic Council invites you to a complimentary barbecue starting at 5pm at Naranche Stadium.

The wait is almost over. Friday Nights in Uptown Butte are about to get a little more exciting once again. We can almost feel the change in seasons in the air as fall rolls in and kids prepare for their inevitable return to classes. But with school comes sports and football season can't come soon enough for the rabid fans of the beloved Butte High Bulldogs. Following a season that saw the Bulldogs advance to the quarterfinal round of the Class AA Football Playoffs, Butte High School has released its 2023 football schedule.
