It's semifinal Friday at the Western C Divisional Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament at the Butte Civic Center and the matchups have been set after an exciting opening day on Thursday.  The semifinals mean, in most cases, one win and you advance to the State Tournament so there is a lot at stake.  Here is a look at this evening's matchups.

BOYS - MANHATTAN CHRISTIAN EAGLES VS. SEELEY SWAN BLACKHAWKS

The first semifinal of the day is set for 3pm and will feature the top seed from District 12C, the Manhattan Christian Eagles taking on the second seed from District 13C, the Seeley-Swan Blackhawks.  The Eagles advanced yesterday by trouncing Noxon 79-44 while the Blackhawks got past Gardiner in the opening round, 55-34.

BOYS - ST. REGIS TIGERS VS. LINCOLN LYNX

Our second boys semifinal will follow at 4:30pm and will feature the top seed from District 13C, the St. Regis Tigers facing the district's third seed, the Lincoln Lynx.  The Lynx upset West Yellowstone in a 44-43 thriller in the opening round while St. Regis blasted Two Eagle River 69-51.

GIRLS - SHIELDS VALLEY LADY REBELS VS. WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS LADY HORNETS

The first girls semifinal will be a dandy, featuring the top seed from District 12C, the Shields Valley Lady Rebels against District 13C's third seed, the White Sulphur Springs Lady Hornets.  Shields Valley lambasted Hot Springs 71-31 in the opening round while White Sulphur Springs powered their way past Charlo 41-29.  Gametime is set for 6pm.

GIRLS - DRUMMOND TROJANS VS. WEST YELLOWSTONE WOLVERINES

The nightcap, scheduled for 7:30pm is between the top 13C team, the Drummond Trojans vs. District 12C's second seed, the West Yellowstone Wolverines.  Yesterday Drummond squeaked past Manhattan Christian 31-29 while West Yellowstone beat Seeley Swan 37-24.
