A big weekend of music, dancing and entertainment in store at the Butte Elks
Another weekend is almost here and a lot of fun events are planned at the Elks Lodge on Galena.
Friday night, things will start out with Country Swing Dance lessons with the Montana Tech Swing Dance club from 6:30 to 8pm. If this is something you've been wanting to try, this is your chance because the lessons are open to the public although a $5 donation per dancer is requested.
Right after the swing dance lessons, local band High Ore Road will play from 8 until 11pm. High Ore Road plays a variety of classic rock and country and are made up of Pete Heidt on guitar and vocals, C.D. Holter on guitar and vocals, Tom Billteen on drums and Tom O'Neill on bass guitar and vocals. The band had a great turnout the last time they played the Elks and are coming off a great show a few weeks back at the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Butte adult prom. There is no cover charge for High Ore Road.
Saturday night, Fred Crase will be performing the music of Sir Elton John in "The Bitch Is Back" which was met with extreme enthusiasm the last time he played the Elks. The show includes not only the biggest hits of the Rocket Man's career, but also a costume and dance contest. Showtime is at 8pm Saturday with the doors opening at 7pm. Tickets are $40.00 the day of but you can still get advance tickets for $35 at the Elks, Headframe Spirits or at the Freeway Tavern. It is recommended that you get your tickets in advance.
