Local Theater Takes A Stand Against Ticketmaster Fees

Butte's Mother Lode Theater has had enough of Ticketmaster.

Ticketmaster is an entertainment ticket sales and distribution company and are great for finding tickets for many big shows, sporting events and concerts.  Ticketmaster is also famous for layering fee after fee on top of the ticket's face value, sometimes increasing the total price of the ticket exponentially.  If the event is sold out, you will have a good chance of finding a ticket on Ticketmaster but you can be certain that you will be paying much, much more than face value.  According to the Mother Lode, the corporate mega-giant is shopping around Mother Lode tickets and they don't think it's right.

It appears that Ticketmaster is selling tickets to the Vitamin String Quartet's upcoming show at the Mother Lode on February 9th and they are selling them at an inflated price.  They want you to beware of this because simply purchasing tickets to that show, or any other, is convenient and easy.  It is also almost always less expensive as the Mother Lode is not going to pile on exorbitant fees, and shows at the Mother Lode rarely completely sell out.

There is also the issue of Ticketmaster targeting Butte customers on social media and other platforms taking them directly to the Ticketmaster website rather than the Mother Lode's.  Don't fall for it.
