The Original Mineyard hasn't seen this much activity since it was producing ore.  Fresh off the heels of the successful An Ri Ra Irish Festival and still smokin' from the Montana Folk Festival, the Original Mineyard will be in action again this weekend as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butte presents the annual Rhythm and Brews car show and music festival.

Festivities begin at noon as the Copper City Gear Jammers roll out their classic cars and trucks and the first kegs of local microbrews are tapped.  Foodies will not be left out either as Ohana Island Grinds will be on hand along with Rockin' MT and Extra Sprinkles.  At 1pm, the first of four local musical acts will take the stage including John Montoya, JST US, High Ore Road and F.O.G.  Raffle tickets will be sold as well with all proceeds from the event going to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Butte.

Again this year, the bands and musicians are donating their time, labor and equipment but for High Ore Road drummer Tom "Two Sticks" Billteen it is an obvious choice.  "Having seen firsthand the value a mentor can have in a young person's life, it's an honor to be able to support Big Brothers Big Sisters by doing something we absolutely love."  And as for the venue?  "Playing on the most iconic stage in Montana is a sweet perk, too," he added.

Admission again this year is free although donations to BBBS Butte are encouraged.  Plan on bringing a lawn chair and making a day out of it.
