The Christmas Giving Season is here and if you are considering a charitable donation, the Belmont Senior Center is always a wise choice.

During this Christmas giving season, Butte's Belmont Senior Center is reaching out to our community with a heartfelt request for support. For decades, the Center has served as a lifeline for local seniors — providing not only delicious and nutritious meals, but also friendship, dignity, and a real sense of belonging.

Each month, the Belmont Senior Center delivers and serves meals to more than 4,500 seniors. These meals are often the most reliable source of daily nutrition for many older adults, particularly those who live alone, face mobility challenges, or those who struggle with rising living costs. In addition to meal services, the Belmont Center offers on-site dining, social activities, and opportunities for meaningful connection that help combat isolation and improve overall well-being.

However, as inflation continues to drive up the cost of food, utilities, and transportation, the Belmont Center is finding it increasingly difficult to meet the growing needs of our community. More seniors are seeking assistance, and operational costs are rising faster than available funding allows. Without additional support, it has become harder to sustain the essential programs that so many of our seniors depend on.

That is why the Belmont Senior Center is asking for help this holiday season. Even a small financial contribution can make a meaningful difference — helping ensure that seniors continue to receive warm meals, safe spaces, and compassionate care throughout the entire year.

Donations can be made in person or by mail to:

Belmont Senior Center
615 East Mercury
Butte, MT 59701
Phone: 406-723-7773

You may also donate online at belmontseniorcenter.com by selecting the Bill Pay tab and entering “Donation.”

The Belmont Senior Center is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, meaning all donations are tax-deductible. This Christmas, please consider giving the gift of care, nourishment, and community to the seniors who have given so much to us.

Did Anyone Watch These TV Shows in the 1980s and 1990s?

While you might think “watching while distracted” is a modern habit, even back in the day the TV was just… there, humming along while you did other things. These were the shows that weren’t exactly “must-see TV,” more like “might-see TV” — part of the culture, but you had to wonder: who was actually watching?
