Chinese New Year Celebration This Saturday in Uptown Butte
"The Year of the Horse" will be rung in, in what may be the "shortest, loudest and sometimes coldest parade in Montana" as the Mai Wah Society here in Butte hosts the annual Chinese New Year parade this Saturday, February 21st.
Events will begin at 3pm at the Butte-Silver Bow Courthouse at 155 W. Granite with opening remarks and the start of the parade. The parade will progress east on Granite with those in attendance encouraged to join the entourage as it goes by. The Dragon will be blessing business sponsors along the parade route and the Butte High History Club will again this year serve as "dragon dancers".
The parade will end at the Mai Wah Museum at 17 W. Mercury Street where a reception will be held and refreshments served. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
