
Butte’s Covellite Theater alive with activity this week
Whether you're looking for comedy, film or just some great music this week, you'll have to look no further than Butte's Covellite Theater at 215 W. Broadway, Here is a look at some of the fun activities that the have on their schedule this week.
TUESDAY - OPEN MIC NITE
Singers, musicians, dancers, poets and anyone with a penchant to perform are invited to the Covellite's Open Mic Night that will be taking place at 8pm every Tuesday. Throughout October, Aaron Armstrong will be the host and all types of acts and all ages are invited to take part. Sign ups for stage time will start at 7pm. There is no cover charge but tips for the house and host are graciously accepted.
WEDNESDAY - FREE MOVIE NIGHT
The Halloween theme continues with a free screening of "Scream" at 8pm upstairs on the big screen and on the smaller screen downstairs. Doors open at 7:30pm with free popcorn. There is a suggested donation of $5 for admission.
THURSDAY - UPTOWN COMEDY NIGHT
Uptown Comedy returns for a free show every Thursday through November, save for Thanksgiving. Doors open at 7:30pm and showtime is set for 8pm, please donate generously. If you are a comedian interested in performing, please email buttecomedy@gmail.com.
FRIDAY - UPTOWN ART WALK WITH ZOE ANASTASIA
Friday the Covellite presents October's featured artist Zoe Anastasia from 5pm to 7pm during the Uptown Art Walk Zoe, more widely known as Cowpokin, is a handpoke tattoo artist and illustrator based in Deer Lodge, Montana. Entirely self-taught, she has spent the past seven years honing her craft, working across Wyoming, Colorado, California, Washington, and now back in Montana, where she lives with her husband, young son, and their dog Josie. Throughout October, the Covellite Lounge Gallery is proud to feature her dynamic flash illustrations and original works - a showcase that captures both playful detail and bold imagery.
SATURDAY - FINDING LUCINDA
Lucinda Williams is one of the most respected and influential singer-songwriters in American music. Known for her raw, emotionally charged lyrics and distinctive blend of rock, country, blues, and folk, she is often credited with helping shape the alt-country and Americana genres. Her early life and legacy will be explored in film and live music on October 18th at the Covellite Theater at 7:30PM through "Finding Lucinda", a captivating new documentary that will follow a songwriters in the round session with some of our areas most talented singer-songwriters.
