Butte Farmers’ Market a hit on Saturdays in Uptown Butte
For many Southwest Montana residents, the arrival of the Butte Farmers' Market is one of the surest signs that summer has arrived.
The 2026 season is underway and runs every Saturday through October 10 on West Park Street in Uptown Butte. The market stretches between the Park and Main intersection and the historic Phoenix Building at Dakota Street, bringing together local growers, food producers, artisans and shoppers for a weekly community tradition that is now a staple of Southwest Montana life.
Since it began in 1995, the Butte Farmers' Market has grown into one of the region's most popular seasonal attractions. Over the past three decades, it has earned a reputation for offering a wide variety of fresh, locally sourced products while creating a welcoming gathering place for both residents and visitors to our area.
Again this year shoppers can expect to find colorful hanging baskets and bedding plants, farm-fresh eggs and abundance of fruits and vegetables from throughout Southwest Montana gardens. Vendors also bring in popular seasonal favorites including Flathead cherries, Montana-grown melons from fields near what was once Dixon, Montana, produce from Hutterite colonies near Choteau and vegetables grown by Hmong farmers in the Missoula and Bitterroot valleys.
In addition to fresh produce, market-goers will find baked goods, cut flowers, jams, jellies, honey and other prepared foods. Local craftspeople from across Southwest Montana also showcase handmade arts and crafts each week, adding to the marke's vibrant atmosphere. Even with its expanding offerings, organizers emphasize that the market's primary mission remains providing fresh, nutritious food to the community.
A market coordinator, easily identified by a clipboard. will be available each Saturday to assist vendors with setup and help shoppers locate specific booths or products.
