With fall comes a lot of travel for most of us, and even if it doesn't, Philipsburg, Montana is a delightful stop whether you're on you're way to an event or are making it your destination.

After a brief road trip, the best place to make as a first stop is Doe Brothers for lunch where they take tremendous pride in the quality of  the Angus beef used in every burger.  Doe Brothers is also noted for their seasonal bison and elk burgers which you can try along with a craft beer or a tasty beverage from their old-fashioned soda fountain.

After lunch, you may feel the need to relax with a tall, cold one and you're going to find exactly that at the Philipsburg Brewing Company where some of Montana's most popular microbrews are made.  They invite you in to try one (or three) of their popular microbrews daily between 10 and 8 at 101 W. Broadway.

No visit to Philipsburg would be complete without a stop at the Philipsburg Creamery where the ice cream is made from scratch, the scoops are piled high and the thick shakes are simply delicious.  Their treats seem to be even more tasty when on the streets of this cool little town, but you can call them at (406)596-0843 for delivery to Butte and nearby locations.

They bill themselves as the "World's Greatest Candy Store" and you will be hard-pressed to prove them wrong.  They have old-fashioned penny bulk candy (a little more than a penny these days), an entire section dedicated to their chewy salt water taffy, an island where fine candies are crafted and a special corner where an array of dense, delicious fudges are crafted.  This is the part of Philipsburg we ALWAYS take home with us.
