Instead, maybe you'd like to be that person who "observes" the room! That in itself can be fun! The next "SINGO" social, so to speak, will be March 9th, again, at the Butte Elks Lodge (206 W Galena). Play begins at 6:30 p.m. with a $5 dollar fee per card. The option to purchase additional cards is available. So, whether in the shower or while driving solo in your car, start working those vocal cords for a game of SINGO, March 9th!

Coming up next Wednesday, March 8th, the Butte Elks Lodge and CCCS are set to sponsor a city wide Butte Silver Bow County Volunteer Fire Department Fundraiser. The event consists of dinner served and enjoyed among friends and family from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Butte Elks Lodge (206 W Galena). Cost is only $14 dollars a plate and all for a great cause. Children 5 and under eat for free.

The Mother Lode Theatre is excited to continue their Underground Comedy Series! Coming March 4th to the Orphan Girl stage in the basement of the Mother Lode (hence "underground"), it's the hilarious comedic stylings of TK Moyer! As brought to light by "Do The Bay" online, Moyer has been entertaining audiences since 2010! He tested his early material on Navy shipmates and later went on to perform at Cobb's Comedy Club & the Punch Line, and the African- American Shakespeare Company in San Francisco. Moyer is currently an open mic regular at Edinburgh Castle Pub in the bay area and select venues across the world. With credentials like that, you know you'll be in for a great show this Saturday in Uptown Butte.

The Anaconda Lady Copperheads' resilience was well recognized over the weekend during the Western B Divisional Basketball tournament in Anaconda, and it doesn't stop there! Tonight, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Smelter City's Memorial Gym, the Lady Heads will take on the Loyola Heartbreakers in a challenge match to decide who will get the second seed and a trip to the State Class B Tournament in Great Falls, March 9th, 10th & 11th. Tonight's game is in part premised on the fact that the Lady Heads and the Lady Breakers had yet to play each other during this past weekend's tournament.

Beginning Tuesday, February 28th, Haffey will host a five-week Spring Fling Adult Archery Program in the Anaconda School Administrator's Gym at 1410 W Park in Anaconda. Two archery sessions will be available every Tuesday at 6 p.m. and at 7 p.m. for only $7 dollars for the entire five-week session. Participants are encouraged to join in on the action of the archery program with or without their own equipment. Any gear needed will be provided. The mindset? Participants should be able to work at their own pace, as flexibility is highly encouraged during the program. As vendors and exhibitors prepare for the upcoming Made in Montana Trade Show at the Lewis & Clark County Fairgrounds in Helena, March 10th & 11th, comes a buyer's level of curiosity. When I learned of the trade show, my first thought was how I couldn't wait to see the beautiful hand-crafted jewelry, soaps, art and woodwork, and food for purchase. Products at the trade show include: books, pet treats, stationary, clothing, candles, jewelry, food, beverages, toys, games, backpacks, pottery, photography, visual arts, soaps, luggage, souvenirs, cosmetics, housewares, and more...ALL MADE IN MONTANA.

By 8:15 p.m. came the final match-up of the evening when the Copperheads boys' basketball team hashed it out with the St. Ignatius Bulldogs! To say the least, it was an intense exchange on the court as are most games, let alone tourney play! The Copperheads were up for the majority of the game, but with Bulldogs trailing close behind. The end result was a Copperhead Victory 69 to 66 due to a master 3-point shot by Anaconda's Billy Farmer with only seconds remaining. The game was action-packed with many 3-point shots, jump shots, rebounds, and more by Anaconda's River Hurley, Gabe Galle, Cael Mikalotos, Tanner Cromwell, Brody Galle, Wade Dahood, Tytan Cook, Shane Schalk, Treyton Patrick, Travis Dye, Cory Galle, and Riley Kriskovich. With their game under their belt, the Copperheads will take on the Big Fork Vikings at 8:15 p.m. tomorrow (Feb. 24) for a shot at Saturday's Western B Divisional Championship!

Get ready to climb and sing like you mean it at a fun filled event planned for tomorrow during Recreate's Climbing & Karaoke Night in Butte! They've been at it for awhile now, and I have to say the concept behind is catchy! It's a chance to not only get a good work out while climbing, but to also get your vocal cords in tip top shape. As illustrated on their website, Recreate Climbing & Fitness (1101 Utah Avenue in Butte) offers a functional fitness gym and a bouldering gym. No worries, though, as you're encouraged to work at your own pace during the Climbing & Karaoke event tomorrow from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The idea behind this action packed function is to simply get out and enjoy family and friends in a welcoming environment. Everyone is invited, with free rentals and age appropriate drink specials available from the Homestake Bar next to Recreate.

Coming to the Forge Hotel in Anaconda, enjoy a taste of local theatre with plays derived from Montana playwrights. The artistic entourage known as the Anaconda Ensemble Theatre will host 3 new short plays in Anaconda, beginning tomorrow, February 24th at 7 p.m., this Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and then again on Sunday with a matinee performance at 2 p.m. As part of their Montana Premiere Project, the plays will tell the tale of the Landering Truth (by Helena's Robert Holter) That's What She Said (by Helena's Cynthia Webb), and Wife (by Missoula's Shaun Gant.

The way Rocko behaves after being outside for a short period in the cold indicates that his Kelpie "down under" side is more prominent than his Canadian side. What was interesting to me while briefly taking Rocko for a walk this morning was how two neighborhood dogs we encountered along the way didn't seem one bit bothered or fazed by the extreme cold weather. They were clearly huskies of some kind who relaxingly laid in the snow like it was no big deal. While on the contrary, Rocko started to act like his paws were hurting and ready to fall off. This was a clear indication that it was way too cold for him to be out in the elements, so we high-tailed it to the house.
