You have to admit it takes a pretty low type of criminal to steal.  It takes an even lower type of scum to steal from the disabled.  These thieves stole from and vandalized a food truck that is staffed and operated by those with developmental disabilities. A truck that creates a revenue stream to enable further growth, activity and positivity.  This truck is one of many functions of the Silver Bow Developmental Disabilities Council whose mission is as such, but so much more.  This food truck provides work and a sense of self-worth and independence for our most vulnerable.  A sense of purpose and productivity.   And thieves worked hard at stealing the truck's generator, bluetooth speaker and more while doing plenty of damage to the truck itself.

As you would imagine, Butte and Southwest Montana are having none of this.  Earlier this morning on KAAR-FM, we started collecting pledges from like-minded individuals who want to see the Dish-a-Bility Truck back on the streets and back soon.  First Jennifer D'Arcy called in with a $25 donation.  Zach Breen and his coworkers from our next-door neighbors at Platt on Dewey Boulevard donated a bluetooth jobsite speaker.  And then it started rolling.  Susan Kalarchik of BC Hearing phoned in an incredible $250 donation which was matched by our good friend Dave Andrews at Metals Sports Bar and Grill.  Lil' Dribblers donated $100 as did Sara Novack, Mike & Colleen Fink, Tim & Colleen Norbeck, Jerome McCarthy and Joyce Kramer and the folks at Head Over Heels.  Tasha from All About You Handyman made a $100 pledge not only for All About You but Butte Insulation as well.  And the calls keep coming.

The truck will be on display at the Butte Plaza Mall starting at noon today where further donations will be accepted.  We will also be finding out about an official account and possible Venmo that are being set up so stay tuned!
