Summer evenings in Butte are about to get a lot more lively as Movies in the Park returns to Clark Park for another season of free family entertainment, community connection, and outdoor fun under the Montana sky.

The popular event series takes place in the southeast part of Clark Park, with vendors opening at 6 p.m. and movies beginning at 7 p.m. Organizers say the response to last year’s inaugural season exceeded expectations and transformed the park into a gathering place filled with families, neighbors, and local businesses.

What started as a simple movie night quickly became something much bigger. Families showed up with lawn chairs and blankets, kids played across the grass, and community organizations had a chance to connect with residents in a relaxed, welcoming setting. Local vendors also benefited from the added foot traffic and community support throughout the summer.

According to organizers, the events even earned praise from both Butte-Silver Bow Parks & Recreation and local law enforcement for the positive impact they had on the park and surrounding neighborhood. Special thanks were extended to Butte-Silver Bow Parks & Recreation for helping make the series possible and for maintaining the park throughout the season.

This year, Wednesdays in Butte are shaping up to be a full evening of entertainment. The Butte Community Market has officially moved to Wednesdays and will operate from 4 to 7 p.m. in the skating oval before the movies begin. Visitors can spend the afternoon shopping local vendors, supporting small businesses, and browsing handmade goods before heading over to the lawn for the evening’s feature film.

Movie voting is also heading to local elementary schools this week, giving kids a chance to help decide which movies will hit the big screen this summer.

Additional announcements about featured movies, vendors, sponsors, and community charity spotlights are expected soon. Businesses interested in sponsoring the free community event series can contact organizer Quincy Lee directly at 406-498-6411 or follow @joyunlocked406 for updates throughout the summer.
