You've got to have some testicular fortitude to compare your city to Las Vegas but Butte has never been one to back down from a fight.  Sure, a couple of decades ago we almost fell for the pie-in-the-sky "Destination Montana" charade that for all intents and purposes should have been pitched by a guy in a coat lined with fake Rolex watches in the alley behind the M&M.  Destination Montana promised wide open gambling, and 24-hour liquor.  Entertainment.  Sport.  Shopping.  Kind of like the movie Tombstone but without the Cowboys.  But let's get back to the gambling.  What if I told you that for decades, Butte has had a dice game that would rival or exceed anything that you would find in Sin City? Apparently since the 1970's Butte, America, at least for an evening, is a gambler's mecca.  Here is what was posted recently as a comment on a Butte subreddit.

If this is true, this could very well be the biggest dice game in America.  Even in Las Vegas, even at El Cortez, you would find some difficulty finding a table where they will accept a $10,000 roll, but apparently in Butte, at some bar or bars, on the night before Thanksgiving, it is commonplace.

I have heard rumors of this dice game but I have never seen it.  Likewise, I have heard rumors of the aforementioned $10,000 roll being bet and I have heard stories of new trucks being purchased the next week.  I have also heard stories of the dreaded 1-2-3 roll and children not returning to college after the Thanksgiving weekend.  Will the game or games be happening this year?  I'd bet on it.
