The following is a release from the Rocky Mountain Association of REALTORS:

The Rocky Mountain Association of REALTORS is hosting a 100th Anniversary Gala and raffle to benefit the Mother Lode Theatre on October 29. Doors open at 6 pm. The Gala will feature a Variety Show with performances by well-known Butte musicians and organizations including Montana Dance Works, Dynamic Dance, B'yond the Edge, Matt Buckley (cowboy poet), and Orphan Girl Children's Theatre. Musical performances will feature Marlene Malloy, Andy Larson, and Mining City Choral Union. The Masons will present a special re-dedication of the theatre cornerstone to celebrate 100 years of performances. Additionally, there will be a Dutch Auction Raffle with donated gift baskets by local businesses including 406 Gym- Birthday package, 2 passes to Montana Zipline Adventures, 1 night at Fairmont, $100 Visa gift card, 1 month pass Apoc World, 406 Nutrition gift card, Butte Brewing, Flying S Title, Water Environmental Technology, Orphan Girl Children’s Theatre and more. Tickets will be available for purchase at the Gala event.

The theatre opened on September 6, 1924, as the Temple Theatre, operated by the Masons until 1929, when they converted it into a movie theatre leased to Fox Theatre. Throughout the next 50 years, the theatre hosted live performances, movies, and events. When the theatre closed, the Masons donated it to the City of Butte; it was almost slated for demolition until a group of citizens, led by Bob Poore and Gus Miller, formed the Butte Center for the Performing Arts. After a multi-million-dollar renovation, the theatre re-opened as The Mother Lode Theatre in 1994. Since then, the theatre has hosted live performances by local and traveling companies, movies, and music. “The Rocky Mountain Association of REALTORS is committed to supporting the Mother Lode Theatre for a second year with a Gala event to benefit the continuation of theatre upgrades for quality performances for the Butte community” said Valerie Nielson committee chair. “This year’s Gala proceeds will provide final theatre lighting upgrades”. Gala tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the theatre box office or online at buttearts.org.

In addition to the Gala, The REALTOR Association is sponsoring a separate raffle featuring four prizes. First Place is a Mathews Lift Bow, Second Place: Endeavor Balloon Ride and Hotel, Third Place: Treager Smoker with meat packages from Excelsior Meats, Riley’s Meats, and Western Meat Block, Fourth Place: 2025-2026 Mother Lode Series Tickets. 250 tickets will be sold for $50; drawing will be at the Gala event. Tickets are available at the Mother Lode Theatre box office.
