Butte’s Pioneer Street Rods to hold Cruise Nite Wednesday at Spirit of Columbia Gardens Carousel at Stodden Park
Whenever a car club hosts a car show you know it's going to be something special and when it's the oldest car club in Southwest Montana it can only be that much better. You are invited to join in the fun Wednesday evening as Pioneer Street Rods hosts KMBR's 4th Cruise Nite of the summer at Stodden Park just outside the Spirit of Columbia Gardens Carousel from 6 to 8pm.
Pioneer Street Rods' roots go all the way back to 1972 and one original member is still active. The club was established not only to promote a high standard of vehicle maintenance and safe driving habits but to promote sportsmanship, fellowship and respect of opinions and property of others. Pioneer Street Rods provides training and instruction in the construction and operation of street rods and the club meets on the second Tuesday of each month. Prospective members must submit an application and attend 2 club events, for information please contact Jim Ayers at (406) 593-7817.
One of the highlights of the club's calendar year is the annual car show which has been held at the carousel for the past several years. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Spirit of Columbia Carousel again this year. KMBR will again be giving the Peoples Choice Award to top car/truck and motorcycle determined by popular vote. All vehicles are welcome to enter and everyone who shows up will be given an opportunity to cast their vote. Registration and voting will open at 6pm in the area between the carousel and the swimming pool with the winners' announcement expected at 8pm.
