Want to buy dinner for a Veteran and help out the Spay/Neuter Task Force at the same time? Here’s how.
On the anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy in particular, it is not difficult calling to mind the incredible sacrifices that have been made by American servicemen and women over the course of our nation's history. Today's veterans have served the United States during. World War II. In Korea. Vietnam. Iraq. Afghanistan. And even in times of peace there was still much work to be done and many duties to be carried out in the name of our country.
Carolyn Cornelius is organizing the upcoming two-night Spay and Neuter Task Force fundraiser which will be held at the Elks on Thursday, July 22 and Friday, July 23. Thursday will be a Spaghetti and Chicken fundraiser dinner and thanks to a generous donation from Mike Thatcher of Community, Counseling and Corrections, Inc., Cornelius is planning on hosting residents of the Southwest Montana Veteran's Home free of charge. But it will take some help from the community. "Mike Thatcher has offered to donate the food. I asked if I could pass that on, I want to try to get Veterans to come be a part of this but I don't want them to be charged," Cornelius told us. "So, if I can find more local sponsors that will sponsor a Vet, they'll get to come to dinner and we still get the money, so it's a double-win," she added. Sponsoring dinner for a Veteran is $15.
Sponsors are also needed for the Friday Night Bingo Fundraiser and items are needed for the live and silent auctions that are planned. For information on how you or your business can sponsor a vet, donate an item or become involved in the Butte Spay/Neuter Task Force in other ways, call Carolyn Cornelius at (406)498-7213.
