When you're planning a mountain bike race and are expecting 500 racers from 29 states and 4 countries, well, you know you're on to something big.  That's exactly what Stephanie Sorini and organizers of the Butte 100 Mountain Bike Races are facing, and they are once again looking to residents of Southwest Montana to make it a success.
The Butte 100 series of races is set for July 20th and volunteers are needed for just about all areas of the races, from setup and teardown to manning aid stations, serving food, manning street intersections, handing out medals, awarding finishers mugs and manning merchandise booths.  Organizers are welcoming all volunteers whether you're a seasoned veteran of the Butte 100 or even if you've never been around a mountain bike race before.
Those who wish to volunteer must attend a volunteer meeting of which there are two, one on July 9th and one on July 16th, both taking place at Butte Brewing Company at 465 E. Galena.  Both meetings will begin at 5:30pm and will include complimentary pizza, beer and salad.  At the meetings you will get all of the information about the event, its volunteer roles and the different ways that you can contribute.  Potential volunteers are welcome to attend both meetings but are only required to attend one.  Sorini notes that volunteering at the Butte 100 "is a fantastic way to give back to the community, to meet new people and to be a part of one of the most exciting mountain bike races in the country."
If you have any questions about the Butte 100 or volunteer opportunities, please reach out to Stephanie Sorini by email at StephanieSorini@butte100.com.
