We all know that Butte is a little off of her rocker to begin with, particularly as the dog days of summer arrive.  Historically, festivals have brought a little craziness in late July and early August as the memories of Knievel Days come to mind.  For you young 'uns who don't remember or if you weren't around town when Knievel Days was a thing, it was simply awesome.  Every year would culminate with some crazy stunt, usually some sort of world record attempt involving Evel Knievel's friend Spanky Spangler.  He jumped off the Finlen.  While on fire.  He jumped directly into two city buses with no intention of even trying to clear them.  One year Evel's late son Robbie had a huge jump on Park street.  There was always a big concert as part of the weekend.  It was a great time.  And it is in that spirit that Brawls and Kickstart Days will return to Butte in early August.

Monty Klistoff has gradually been bringing this spirit of stunts, fun and music to Butte with Brawls and Kickstart Days which has been taking place at the Butte Depot the first weekend of August over the last couple of years and this year may be the biggest yet. Brawls and Kickstart Days 2023 will be August 4th and 5th.   Along with the incredibly popular bare-knuckle boxing matches that are a huge draw, there will be extreme sports, daredevil stunts and a major concert. 90s sensation Everclear will be performing August 5th.

But let's talk stunts.  Of all the stunts that are planned, the one that stands out to me is the one that Mr. Dizzy from the History Channel's American Daredevils is planning to attempt.  But first, here's a little on Mr. Dizzy:

Mr. Dizzy is going to attempt a world record 140-foot jump in a limousine.  Yes, a limousine.  Like I said, it's going to be a crazy weekend. Click here to get tickets.
